The Septuagint is often abbreviated as "LXX" and the Masoretic Text is abbreviated as "MT."</p> <p>The New Testament translation is from the New American Standard version of the Bible, 1995 edition, at www.biblegateway.com. Old Testament quotes are my own translations, based on the New American Standard, but sometimes altered slighty to exactly match the New Testament if the original Hebrew or Greek can be construed to be an exact match. For example, if the New Testament says "shall" and the Old Testament says "will" based on the same Greek word, I have changed the Old Testament quote to say "shall" and match the New Testament.</p><p> In those cases where the verse numbers are different between English, Greek and Hebrew, the English language Bible verse numbers are used. Rahlf's edition of the Septuagint is used for this study, with verses copied from http://www.magister.msk.ru/library/bible/greek/greek.htm. The Greek New Testament verses are copied from the same location. The English language translation of the Septuagint at www.apostlesbible.com was used as a translation aid. The Hebrew Bible verses are copied from http://www.ccel.org/a/anonymous/hebrewot/home.html. </p> <p><a href = "Parallel Matthew.htm">Matthew (under construction)</a></p> </TD><TD WIDTH="25%" BGCOLOR="LIGHTBLUE"></TD> </TABLE> </body> </html>
